Preliminary RDI strategic agenda

A study has been carried out to establish the RDI objectives regarding the development and production of the technologies / products / services targeted and to be developed within the cluster. This study was conducted on the basis of the analysis of the sources and opportunities for innovation identified within the Transylvania Textile & Fashion cluster and the conclusions of the RDI and internationalization working groups. In order to elaborate the strategic agenda of the RDI, in the seminar the following topics were discussed:

  1. Methods of transition from a linear economy to a circular one in the textile and clothing industry, Sustainable Development Goals -Agenda 2030

For an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of the circular economy as well as of the Sustainable Development Goals -Agenda 2030, a key factor in the innovation process, representatives of companies within the Transylvania Textile & Fashion cluster as well as representatives of vocational schools (cluster members) participated at the event organized by the Department of Sustainable Development within the working apparatus of the Government of Romania, event entitled Symposium & fashion show – for sustainable development in the textile industry & exhibition of textile articles and interior design. On this occasion, the representatives of the cluster had the opportunity to exhibit their own creations of textile articles (designed and made from textile waste), the designers to present their collections that were created taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals. At the same time, the cluster had the opportunity to present the activities that carries out in order to realize and promote the SDGs, key elements that will be the basis for innovation within the organization.




  1. Identification of innovation needs in the Transylvania Textile & Fashion cluster

The objectives identified by the RDI Working Group according to the needs expressed by the representatives of the companies were categorized into four groups, as follows:

  1. Process innovation
  2. Product innovation
  3. Organizational innovation
  4. Innovation in the field of marketing activities


  1. Inter-cluster relations, cross-sectoral cooperation

Ways and methods have been established to create a guideline for innovative solutions in order to gain competitive advantage through cooperation with the following clusters: Prowood Innovative Cluster, Green Energy Romanian Innovative Biomass Cluster, Agrofood Regional Innovative Cluster, Transylvania Balneoturism Cluster, Packaging-Printing-Design Cluster.
